OUR STORY
“MPCC Evangel Gift Shop” Background of development
Since inception of MPCC Care Ministry, the caring model and objectives have always been built on
the Biblical scripture: 1) the “discipling principle” based on "Equipping his people for works of
service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the
knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of
Christ" (Ephesians 4:12-13); 2) the leveraging on God’s gifts for each individual Christians - “Having
gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them….the one who does acts of mercy,
with cheerfulness” (Romans 12:6-8); and the “faith in action principle” that “ For as the body without
the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” (James 2:26)
God always has a way of lifting us up, especially in uncertain times. During COVID-19 outbreak in
March 2020, some members of the Care Ministry Team who are gifted with arts and craftsmanship
started to make cloth masks and greeting cards for the community members as a way of caring. The
attempts were well received and such efforts have been encouraged to be invested to develop a variety
of arts and crafts that are unique, one-of-its-kind and salable products.
With such vision and principles that are biblically-based and coupled with the positive feedback, the
MPCC Deacon Board approves the Care Ministry to set up the MPCC Evangel Gift Shop. The
purposes are to identify “gifts” among the church members as to engage them and to make use of their
different talents and creative skills to support the development of care ministry; at the same time, the
operation of the gift shop will generate additional resources to support the ministry work.
So far the “arts and crafts” group has produced some authentic items, such as greeting cards for
different occasions, baby blankets and baptism gifts. All of which are hand-made and are one-of-a-
kind. Custom-made goods, such as baby or children knit wears, wedding cards or invitation cards, etc.
are also available. The Gift Shop welcome any purchase. The following catalogue is a price list of the
products. Please fill out the form and give it to the gift shop volunteer on duty or please order online
by visiting MPCC website: mpccchurch.ca.
Thank you very much for your support to the MPCC Evangel Gift Shop !
